Have you ever had one of those moments while listening to a song that makes you so aware of God that you throw your hands up and with a tear in your eye, praise him? Such a moment happened to me while listening to the recent release from Mosaic on the song “Glory and Wonders”. The female vocal grows in passion and zeal as the song builds and anticipation rises and then finally she hits notes that are so unique, original and insightful that you know it was a gift to us of the worship in heaven. How do you help but stop and listen to this and adore God in his creation of us all.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made, each of us and it is just so obvious sometimes.
Now what will really bother some is that I do this on songs that are not just “Christian”. I believe God created all of us and that we are all uniquely God gifted with talents. Some just give that talent back to Him while others continue to worship their own ability with the deceiving thought that it is really their own gift. Both are equally gifted, but there is just something more beautiful about that song lifted up to God in credit to His gift, than that of a catchy tune I might sing in the shower.
I wonder what it would be like if some of the other amazingly talented artists out there would begin to allow their gifts to be used to bring glory back to God…what moments might await us in the corner of a coffee shop, lobby or commute where we lift our hands up and praise God with all awe and wonder?
Enjoy this song…and enjoy worshipping Jesus this week!
