When you go into your child's room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! Let's think of how we can be a good friend today. Hmm...I know one way Jesus is a good friend. Jesus loves us all the time!"
Drive Time
While on the go, talk about things that make you feel sad. Maybe being sick or missing a family member makes you sad. Then talk about how Jesus was a good friend to Mary and Martha when they were sad. Jesus went to visit them and was sad with them.
Cuddle Time
Cuddle with your child and pray: "Dear God, thank You for giving [name of child] and me a good friend like Jesus that we can talk to when we are sad."
Bath Time
Add dolls or plastic animals to bath time. Pretend with your child that the toys are sad. Say: "Oh no! [Name of toy] is feeling sad. What would a good friend do?" Talk about how Jesus was a good friend to Mary and Martha when they were sad. Jesus went to them and was sad with them.

Pray for each other: "God, help us to talk to You first when we're angry. You want us to talk to You about anything-even about the things that make us mad."
