For 2025, we have a Global Experience to Bangladesh set for January, and a Missions Trip to the Dominican Republic set for the end of July. The details for each trip can be found below. Sign up if you have interest in being a part of either of these experiences.
Bangladesh Justice Trip 2025
Dates: Jan 9-22
Estimated Cost: $2,621
Age Requirement: Must be 18+
Challenge Rating: 4, High Challenge
Description: Speak Up defends impoverished girls in Bangladesh who are vulnerable to child marriage and other exploitation. Their Girls Education Program (GEP) empowers girls and young women to stay out of child marriages, and to stay in school all the way through college graduation. Through the GEP, girls and young women are becoming educated, empowered professionals dedicated to serving their communities. The GEP is changing individual lives, elevating the status and wellbeing of girls and women, and transforming whole communities. Open Life is returning to Bangladesh in 2025! In 2024 our church made great progress in strengthening our partnership with Speak Up for the Poor through our visit and subsequent sponsorship campaign. We want to build on the investment of our initial trip by targeting specific needs that were observed by our 2024 team. The focus for our justice trip in 2025 will be three-fold:

- We will work with girls on their English language speaking and listening skills through small conversational learning groups.
- We will offer training for the girls and female staff on important mental health topics.
- We will offer basic computer skills training in small groups.
Dominican Republic Missions Trip 2025
Dates: July 24th - August 1st, 2025

Age Requirement: Must be 13+

Description: Open Life has supported Jamie and Berly Bello, Missionaries to the Dominican Republic, since 2018. Their focus is youth ministry (teen - college) work in Santo Domingo along with planting a church Comunidad Vida y Gozo. In 2019, we sent a team that focused on providing a workshop to train pastors and leaders on being present with their community, helping to lead a worship conference, and a community BBQ for a local church. We’re excited to return to the DR in 2025 and support the ministry and projects that Jaime and Berly will have for us. Plans are not set in stone and often revolve around the skills of the people on the team that we are able to send. Projects *could* include.
